Ya gotta go see 'em!... i'm number 5 posted at Tracey's Connect8 Project!
Oh! Here's the link to my connect8 And another thing... i finally started updating the salascove.com homepage too! It was getting pretty much 'worn' by time. Had fun putting together the banner so far. Just don't have any links added yet.
What's my motivation?

What's my motivation?
- the joy of starting with a 'blank page'
- a delightful sense of fulfillment when a website takes on a fresh new look
- competition... Otto has begun the homepage for her brand new domain!

Jolly good, wot! Anyone for tennis? That'll be ten ponies, guv. You're the epitome of everything that is english. Yey :) Hoist that Union Jack!

I am SO excited!!! Today i connected eight separate photos that are not otherwise directly related. Now i want to put them together on a page to best show them off. Am currently thinking of using a little 'pop up' java script that i used with some HTML for my ever-lovin' one day when he wanted to show off a few photos. Now all i have to do is find the script!
AND..... i'm thoroughly enjoying the congrats on our wedding anniversary today! Believe me... i read every one of the comments to the guy who made all six of our daughters possible! Thank you one and all!
Oh yes! Here's the result of a little quiz i found somewhere today.....
My pirate name is::
Mad Ethel Vane
Every pirate is a little bit crazy. You, though, are more than just a little bit. You tend to blend into the background occasionally, but that's okay, because it's much easier to sneak up on people and disembowel them that way. Arr!

Like my new background? While doing the foxtrot in downtown Midland we stopped in to say hi to Tim at Mid Michigan Computer Connection. Right up front in the shop was this beautiful computer, box built by Tim. It was too beautiful to pass up. Thanks, Tim, for letting me photograph it!
By the way, if you live in mid-Michigan's tri-city area, Mid Michigan Computer Connection is a great place to get your computer fixed. Want your computer custom made? They'll build one for you! These guys really know what they're doing. No, I don't make a profit from sending him customers... he's just a good guy we met a couple of years ago when he gave a presentation at Saginaw Valley Computer Association.

Spent the weekend at the lake - Windy and her husband - staying in the 'bunkhouse.' We really had a great time! We watched the fishermen in the Sable river trying to catch the big salmon as they swim upstream to lay eggs. All summer long people are floating down the river toward Lake Michigan... in the winter swans gather there for shelter... early spring i've seen the geese and ducks gathering as they return to Michigan..... but i've never before seen the lake lined solidly with fishermen! What a sight Windy and Dave walked the skywalk as we stayed photographing this new (to us) phenomenon.
First time we rode bikes out to the Big Sable Lighthouse was in September; it wasn't open to the public when we got there. The second time - in the hot summer - it was... but you can get pretty much worn out getting to the place riding bikes through the sand... the climb up all 130 spiral steps is a feat in itself! This time the lighthouse was not only open for tours but there was a shuttle service! It was worth the small fee. Dave has camped all his life but he had never climbed the lighthouse before. It's especially fun to visit with a 'first-timer.' Next time... Otto & 'the kid!'
Back at our little lake, Pam and family were at their trailer. They had planned to take Mike's boat out of the water but after making plans to do a little 'earth moving' project next weekend, they left it in for another week. Even though Pam had lots of reading to do for her new class, we got a little premium visiting time in with them as well. All in all a healthily busy weekend... and the traffic flow going home wasn't bad either.
I can't believe we climbed the WHOLE thing!
Can you find Windy and Dave in this picture?

Do you know where your kid is surfing on the Information Highway? I just clicked on my Random Site for today and found........ my kitchen is the site of the day! It's an old GeoCities website but i don't want to delete it. It's got a lot of good information there. Anyway, one of the websites i haven't mentioned lately is SafeKids.com - which is recommended reading for parents everywhere.

Golden brown reminds.......... me of fried potatoes. I prefer them golden brown. The best way to accomplish this is with a bit of cooking oil in a hot pan... precooked potato slices or cubes.... or easiest of all 'Simply Potatoes' or frozen hashed browns.
The more I.................. try to diet the fatter I get! I guess i eat too many fried potatoes!

What's on................. Right now?
What's On your bedroom wall Right Now?
... a large painting done by number 3 daughter when she was in college, majoring in art. It is a rather sad clown, done in shades of orange and lots of circular stuff happening... mostly balloons.

I just read the funniest thing i've read in a long time! If a little cuss word or two doesn't bother you, you've got to read a story with a moral..... I laughed so hard i almost cried!

Yesterday was a day for remembrance I didn't blog about it... didn't watch all that stuff all day long on the news... just remembered. God bless those who lost loved ones on that horrible day. God bless those who lived near the tragic sites of destruction. My only prayer is for your pain to grow a little less as time goes by. We will never forget the victims.
A few months after 911.2001 i wrote a little commentary called: Generation 911 - What will they think of next? The reason? I felt the press was sensationalizing just a little too much! Last year i wrote another little essay... September 11, 2001 Retrospective. I'll continue to remember... continue to pray... continue to have faith in our God and our country, for we all have faith in the same God no matter how we visualize and respect that God. I think most of us have faith in our country too..... faith that we will remain strong in adversity..... faith that although we've been scarred we know that scar tissue only makes the body stronger.

What's on....... Right Now?
See if you can answer this question without looking in your refrigerator; ok, take a quick look right now, then come back and sit down and post your answer. Let's have some fun! This week's question is.............
What's On the top shelf of your refrigerator Right Now?
Just took a quick look! Good! My top shelf is only across half of the fridge. Here's what i remember seeing.......

What's On the top shelf of your refrigerator Right Now?
Just took a quick look! Good! My top shelf is only across half of the fridge. Here's what i remember seeing.......
- a big can of SmartBeat shortening
- a quart jar about 1/4 full of homemade applebutter
- a partial bag of dried apricots
- 2 containers of Brummel and Brown fruit-flavored yogurt spreads
- an open jar of hot salsa
- okay i looked again - 2 leftover ears of cooked corn on the cob
- 1/2 of a quart jar of Windy's homemade dill pickles
- a small jar of apricot/pineapple jam
- an almost full package of processed cheese slices
- old smoked turkey lunchmeat that should be discarded
- and the rest of my can of Pepsi from lunch
I try to start each day........ with a big smile and a pleasant 'good morning' to whomever i see. In my house this is normally the following inhabitants in the following order...
- Frank, the guy i married a million years ago and still wakes me up each morning...
- AmyLou Mae and Bubba - a sweet little calico cat and a big ol' butterscotch-colored furball both of whom guard over me in my sleep and then lead me to the kitchen each morning so i will feed them...
- Miss EllieMae, the soft and gentle black & white lady cat who came to my back door and adopted me 3 years ago..
- Miss Daisy, our big ol' dark gray ball of fuzz, saved from 'death row' a few years ago and
- Goober - 100 pounds of orange and white fur in a tough but tiny body.

Random Questions; Random Days...
What is your zodiac sign? How much stock do you put into your horoscope?
My zodiac sign is Pisces..... the fish. I'm married to an Aquarius so would you say maybe... well fish and aquariums go together don't they? I used to read my horoscope every day... i still do sometimes. I think they're pretty much written broad enough so anybody can say 'oh yeah... that's me alright!' Hey! That's not a fish!
