Google is a GREAT company! When they go public i'm buying! I have a website and a mission, as many of you know, relating to a group of ordinary citizens being bullied by the Michigan Department of Environmental Control (MDEQ). This group is a state department but many of their members are very extreme when it comes to environmental matters and have very good friends who belong to environmental extremist groups... you know, the ones that are always pressuring the government to make the world a better place for wild animals by making it a worse place for humans.
Anyway, the Tittabawassee River Voice has a photo blog to show old-timey stuff about our area. I was astounded to see the Google advertising...our nemesis! Not Google's fault, they try to make the ads meet the interests. I contacted them via their link at the site... yesterday. Today i see the obnoxious element is gone. Thank you Google! You've always been my favorite search engine and will continue so.

Happy Birthday Natalie!
We Love You!
Poor baby... no wonder you and the Bug thought you were adopted! After the middle two (Foggy and Peakay) were born we rarely had time to get out the camera! It's not surprising that most of the photos we were able to retrieve from the 100 year flood in 1986 were Christmas pictures! Could you tell by looking at all these beautiful babies they would all grow up to be intelligent, loving and independent women? For Otto's fans... here's a who's who for you! left to right:
- Foggy - 4 years, 4 months
- Sharba - 5 years, 7 months
- Otto - 2 years, 7 months
- Windy - 6-1/2 years
- Peakay - 4 years, 4 months
- ...and center front: Bug - 10 months

Seems like only yesterday.....
This is the reason your youngest two sisters always thought they were adopted. One of the things happening with numerous rapid births... the photos don't get taken in the shuffle of diaper-changing, bottle-warming, cuddling and treating 'boo-boos.' I am pleased we were still doing this for you, our precious number two child! I love you. Hope your birthday was as special as you are.

It's been a week and a half!!! That's how i feel this last week was... but perhaps that's because i ended up sick... well with a sore throat and even WORSE... laryngitis. Yesterday started with a dry, scratchy throat. Received a big complement in the TRV (Tittabawassee River Voice) email and ended up in a long phone conversation with the sender.
In the afternoon had another meeting with some of the TRV folks in preparation for getting a petition going to get DEQ (Michigan Dept. of Environmental Quality) to revoke the designation 'facility' from our residential properties. They and their environmental extremist friends did it to get property owners involved in their long-term squabble with Dow Chemical. We don't like being the pawns and ... well, you know the story. We also plan a petition to make us exempt from property taxes as long as our property is called this name.
By dinner time last night i had a fever to go with the scratchy throat and the laryngitis took over. Got a lot of extra sleep and feel better today. Still can't talk and that's what i hate the most!
Oh yes! Today i started a photo blog for TRV. Our neighbor has lots of historical photos and i will put them on the internet as he sees fit. There will be more tomorrow. I find them fascinating. Will also occasionally show a modern photo of the area. like it? i do!

to my daughters!
Without you I would not be privileged to celebrate this day as a mother. I love you.
Wanted to share this bird with you. We think he's migrating because this is the time of year we see different types of birds than the usual ones at our feeders. He is a Rose-breasted Grossbeak. Isn't he beautiful?<

It's up!!! I just finished my photographic interview... and am number 75 at Q&A. Wow! That was really a big accomplishment for me... harder than most of her challenges, i almost didn't do it at all.
Wow!!! It's been more than a week since i last blogged here. Slap my wrists, would ya? Can't really explain why but i can say i sometimes have more things going on than i originally intended. Stuff happens and if you're like me you just do something about it. This 'dioxin in my backyard' issue is taking up lots of space right now and during this past week i also played a bit of 'catch-up' on the Hackert Lake Association website.
Saginaw Valley Computer Association takes a bit of time... even more since picking up the presidency in January. A few alligators jumped into the swimming pool unexpectedly, making life more complicated than need be, but things got worked out and maybe will run a bit more smoothly now. By the way, if you live in mid-Michigan's Tri-City area, consider joining our group. We are a non-profit association, members of the Association of Personal Computer User Groups (APCUG). I've learned a lot from SVCA and there's always more to learn!
Today was our day to drive west and open up the cottage... turn on the water, etc. We woke up to loads of rain and it's raining across state too so we put the kibosh to that idea! Much of the preparation for the season involves outdoors and Frank already has a cold. No sense in aggravating a bad thing now, is there?
I've even ignored all of my favorite memes this week, although i have a notepad on my hard drive with some of them partially answered. I didn't even post a photo to PhotoTime although i had a perfect photo for PhotoFriday's theme, so I posted it at Sherle's Photos. Well, i DO have an entry of sorts... it's on the PhotoTime page. The theme, 'Cargo', must be a toughy because we don't have as many participants this week... or maybe that's because once i put up somebody's URL on the participant list, they aren't so diligent with the participation, eh?
Also, after looking at some of the entries to 20 Questions, a photographic interview, i've decided to participate after all! At first it looked like too much and too personal, but then i thought of photos i've recently taken that would fit the bill for answers to some of the questions, so voila!!! I have it mostly done now... all the photos are in place and i just need to be creative with the verbal parts. This will be my 'masterpiece' in the area of photo challenges. It should be up later today, so check back here... or at Sherle's Photos.....
