My town has a big fishing shindig going on... they call it a 'walleye festival' and the newspaper says it brings 10,000 people into town every year. They should call it the giant rummage sale because more people go 'rummaging' than they do fishing! This morning as i was leaving town to spend a nice quiet day with family in a neighboring town, i had to slowly weave my way back and forth around people and parked cars for the first mile. Half a dozen rummage sales from here to the corner practically blocked through traffic! It's a two lane road... cars parked on both sides, just slightly off the road leaving a path down the middle for moving vehicles. People wander back and forth across the road, down the middle of the road to the next rummage sale... a major traffic hazard to any sane person! All of this is not only allowed by the local 'powers that be' but it is encouraged! The fishing? It starts at midnight tonight... kickoff of the walleye season! Good luck, fisherpeople!

Last night i received a 'panic' call from a fellow blogger...she wanted to update her Blogger template and all the new information was gone... even though the URL brought her to the latest version. Then she went to her newest blog - a meme - and found that she had no template whatsoever! I suggested she back up all blogs to her hard drive. Here's how.
You now have your templates for all of your archives as well as the latest version. I'm sure you know how to 'view source' to see all of your HTML. If you should lose everything you can start a new template... delete the whole blamed thing and replace with the HTML from your saved pages!
Don't know how to get the HTML? Try this offline... it works. Open a webpage you saved to your hard drive. 'Right click' anywhere on the page. On the resulting dropdown menu, click on 'view source' and voila! There's all of your HTML!
I went to my Grumbleeze template just prior to posting this and found i have an OLD template there... Hopefully this is a temporary problem and we will soon find all ills fixed. I had a similar problem on March 31 - which i blogged about. I went to my URL and found somebody else's blog there! That time I was able to go into my template... it was correct... and i just republished it! Perhaps later today I'll try to fix this one by deleting what's there and copying into the space the HTML that i downloaded last night! Right now i have to go 'become legal'.... yup you heard me! It's 'National Pay Your Taxes Day' - and i need to balance my checkbook to see if we can afford to pay ours! What fun. God bless the U.S.A.!
- Click on 'file' in upper left corner of your computer
- Choose 'save as' (webpage will be default)
- Save
- Go to each 'Archive' date
- Add date or a number to differentiate from your first page and then 'save as' etc.

...a sure sign of spring! Even though we woke up once again today with a snow cover, it's got to be spring... i was awake before the husband! Believe it or not, this strange 'waking up' behavior happens every year... twice a year... at the beginning and the end of daylight savings time! The daylight savings change must be near.

I couldn't have said it better! In her April 2 blog entry, Windy addresses a situation that I wish everybody would pay attention to. Way to go, Windy! ...then she went off this morning and gave some really insightful answers to the 'Thursday Thumb-Twiddlers' questions.
Is this a day for parental bragging rights or what? OttO's latest comment has her bragging about my youngest granddaughter, Alex. Did i raise smart kids or what?
...and Jan! Jan 'introspected' about actors and their place in society. She really got me to thinking! I'm always too busy being upset with the roles so many actors have taken as 'spokesmen' for us! It really didn't dawn on me that they are actually driven by the reaction they get when they speak out. They are after all, as Jan says, just actors!

Major coup!!! You know how you try and try to do something... and the more you try, the more you can't get it? Then something magic happens... something ticks you off... you get really mad... then boom! It's solved! Out of the blue! It just kind of 'dawned on me' that... duh... part of the path was missing! It's kind of like who would have thought it was part of the path... it's not used in the URL! What are you babbling about granni?
The blog! The vanity site! I had given up on trying to get one of my blogs up to my domain! I DID it! Today! After emailing PowWeb tech support... being blown off... emailing them again (who do they think they ARE... blowing ME off???)... less than five minutes after the second email went out to them i figured it out! DUH ME!!! She who needs no more websites... needs no more blogs... has a new one... Joe Average Family... written through CrimsonBlog but published at salascove!!!!
...so i can do this with Blogger then! I went to a Blogger blog that i've ignored... thinking i'll probably delete it because i have too many blogs to keep track of anyway... changed my settings and now... ta dah!!! later granni is at salascove too!
